Throughout the entire summer holidays, children up to and including 14 years of age have free admission to the outdoor pool at Bleichwiese.
As a family-friendly company with strong regional roots, Wicke GmbH + Co. KG is once again committing to children and families in Sprockhövel. Together with other local partners, Wicke is enabling free admission for children up to 14 years to the outdoor pool at Bleichwiese this summer. From July 11 to August 26, 2025 inclusive, young visitors can enjoy carefree holiday days at the popular outdoor pool free of charge. This initiative is part of a joint campaign realized in close cooperation with the town of Sprockhövel – and is already a complete success for the second time in a row.
The full press release:
Sprockhövel, June 26, 2025. On July 14, the summer holidays begin in North Rhine-Westphalia. In good weather, this particularly draws many families to outdoor pools – including ours in Sprockhövel. As a small relief for families, children are to be given free admission to the outdoor pool at Bleichwiese in Niedersprockhövel this year. This means that all children up to and including 14 years of age can enjoy the day at the outdoor pool free of charge from Friday, July 11, 2024, to Tuesday, August 26. “Since Sprockhövel is a family-friendly town, we are especially pleased to be able to offer children free admission to the outdoor pool during the summer holidays. We thank the sponsors, with whose support we were able to realize this campaign for the second time in a row,” says Mayor Sabine Noll. The supporters of the campaign are Böhmer GmbH, Förderverein Freibad Sprockhövel e.V., Kinderschutzbund Hattingen-Sprockhövel, Lions Club Herbede-Sprockhövel, Physio Kimm, Sparkasse Schwelm-Sprockhövel, Wicke GmbH + Co. KG, WKT Westfälische Kunststofftechnik GmbH, Doris Entrup, and Erwin Peddinghaus.
The Sprockhövel outdoor pool at Bleichwiese is the perfect place to enjoy a refreshing cool-down on hot summer days. With a 50-meter pool, a 5-meter diving tower, the 3-meter and 1-meter diving boards, a non-swimmers’ pool with water slide, and a children’s paddling and adventure pool, the outdoor pool has something to offer every visitor. A spacious sunbathing lawn invites relaxation. Those in need of a break in between can refuel with a tasty snack at the kiosk. Good bus connections and a large nearby parking lot make for a pleasant arrival. The outdoor pool is operated by Zentrale Gebäudebewirtschaftung, a municipal enterprise of the town of Sprockhövel.
