Wicke goes green

Our commitment to quality, the environment, sustainability, climate protection, and energy efficiency

As a responsible company, we attach great importance to quality, environmental and climate protection, energy efficiency, and sustainable management. Our corporate policy is based on the ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 50001:2018 standards.

We see sustainability not only as an obligation to the environment and society, but also as a central component of our corporate strategy. With clear goals and continuous improvement, we are doing our part to protect the climate – today and in the future.

Long-term thinking and sustainable action must be anchored and cannot be postponed. We have therefore defined clear goals that are in line with the political framework conditions. We will work continuously to achieve the goals we have set ourselves.

However, we also know that we cannot achieve our goals alone. Implementation requires close cooperation along the entire supply chain. Here, we try to exert a positive influence on our suppliers.

In addition to environmental considerations, we also place great importance on social responsibility. Protecting human rights within our supply chain and ensuring the health and safety of our employees are our top priorities.

By balancing economic success, social responsibility and environmental sustainability, we can pursue a sustainable and responsible corporate strategy.

With our corporate policy of quality, environmental protection, energy efficiency and sustainability, we have set ourselves the goal of reducing our ecological footprint and continuously improving our products and processes.

In order to further reduce our Scope 2 greenhous gas emissions, we plan to purchase green electricity at our sites in Sprockhövel (Germany) and Slušovice (Czechia) from 2026 onwards. We have also already installed PV systems at various locations.

We are committed to respecting and promoting labor and human rights. We take our social responsibility very seriously and consider the protection and respectful treatment of people as an important foundation. We are therefore committed to protecting the safety, health, and well-being of our employees and others affected by our activities. We have also enshrined this in our labor and human rights policy.

We are committed to a safe and healthy working environment at all our locations. Diversity, tolerance and mutual respect form the basis of our interactions, regardless of origin, gender or age.

We are committed to placing ethical values, fairness, and compliance at the heart of our business activities. We expect our employees and business partners to act ethically. We have enshrined this in our ethics policy.

We have set ourselves the goal of reducing our greenhouse gas emissions in the long term in order to minimize our environmental impact and contribute to climate protection.

To achieve this goal, measures to reduce energy consumption and increase the share of renewable energies are being implemented at all major locations. These include switching to green electricity and expanding PV systems. In order to also reduce emissions along the entire value chain, we must closely involve our suppliers in our climate strategy.

To meet our climate targets and measure our progress, we record and calculate our corporate carbon footprint (CCF) every year in accordance with internationally recognized standards.

The CCF considers all relevant emission sources along our value chain and is divided into three scopes:

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions from our own sources, for example from the operation of heating systems, machines, and vehicles.
  • Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased electricity, steam, heat, or cooling.
  • Scope 3: Other indirect emissions along the value chain, such as those from raw materials, transportation, waste, or business travel.

Our CCF was calculated for the main companies in the Wicke Group, including the three production sites. The distribution across the various scopes is as follows:

We have already installed PV systems at several locations. This allows us to increasingly use renewable energy sources directly on site. This is an important step towards reducing our greenhouse gas emissions and achieving our climate targets.
